Gorilla® Cross Rigid
Back to HOME Back to TECHNICAL Back to INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS
In applications where the conveyor may take a sharp up turn, and/or in applications where a heavy cleated/corrugated sidewall belt is used, you may need a belt that is very rigid in the fill or weft direction. (Across the belt) But yet, it still needs to remain flexible in the warp direction, (length of belt) to handle the pulley wrap.
Legg Co. offers our "Gorilla" Cross Rigid Carcass" construction. Utilizing heavy monofilament polyester weft/fill yarns, in conjunction with Legg's proven "Grizzly" tension carcass, for a superior cross rigid belt.
As for Legg's "Gorilla" vs. a fiberglass rod incorporated into the carcass, or even vs. the "other" monofilament constructions, stay tuned, we'll show you the error of their ways. But for starters, if a monofilament based cross rigid carcass is so susceptible to taking a set, then how come in 8 years we've never had one warranty claim against this belt construction? Maybe the competitions problem wasn't really with the monofilament polyester yarns, but rather, in the manufacture of those belts. Things that make you go "Hmmmm".
